Employee Assistance Program (CWA 6.10) #
- At Rehoboth, the health and wellbeing of our staff is important to us. The College is committed to partnering with staff to support them through an Employee Assistance Program. The program assists you with personal or work-related issues that may be impacting your health (physical or mental), wellbeing, or job performance.
- Staff who require personal assistance or counselling for psychological support may make application to access the service of a professional counsellor. Three initial sessions are payable by the College. This may be extended for a further three sessions with the approval of the Principal, CEO, or Finance Manager.
- The request for personal assistance and discussions with the Principal, CEO, Finance Manager and the service provider remain confidential.
- The service provider’s role is to provide a short term intervention for issues that can generally be dealt with in six or fewer sessions. If it is identified that longer term counselling or specialist assistance is required, you may be referred to an appropriate specialist. The College does not meet the costs for such additional specialist services.
- You may wish to speak to your general practitioner regarding long term strategies or obtain mental health treatment plan that enables a patient to access mental health care services so it becomes more affordable (e.g. to see a psychologist for 6-10 session). The College will pay the ‘gap’ should a staff member have a mental health treatment plan in place, to a maximum of $100 per session (per calendar year).
- The Employee Assistance Program is available during and after work hours dependent on the service provider and location. Arrangements for time off during work to attend sessions will be the same as those which exist between supervisors and employees for any other form of time off work. This may include an application for short term leave or sick leave with the provision of the usual certificate requirements where necessary.
Employee Hardship Scheme (CWA 6.11) #
- Staff with two years’ continuous service and who are facing a personal or family crisis may make a confidential application to the Principal, CEO, or Finance Manager to access the ACE Employee Hardship Fund.
- The purpose of the Fund is to provide financial support for staff facing financial challenges for family, health, or personal reasons.
- Casual staff are not entitled to this benefit.
