Guidelines #
- If applications exceed students as numbered above, the Principal and the CEO will decide upon the best action in relation to the number of streams.
- Note that additional funds are required to appoint additional Education Assistants.
- Should the Principal and the CEO decide to cap enrolments, then parents will be informed that they should apply at the alternate Primary Campus, subject to availability, or be placed on a waiting list.
- Only the Business Office may offer a formal placement to a student, following the recommendation of the Principal, CEO, and Board.
- Class sizes are subject to change if there are a number of students with additional learning needs. It maybe necessary to reduce the class size to adequately cater for students with high needs.
Waiting Lists #
- When a class is full, enrolment priorities will be determined according to the date an Enrolment Application is received.
- Before offering a waitlisted place, the Business Office must check the list of long term absent families to ensure that places are available for their child(ren) on their return.
- The Board reserves the right to be the final arbiter where a dispute arises or where circumstances are not clearly defined.
Holding Fee Arrangements #
- The offer to a family of a holding fee requires that we accept the student(s) for re-enrolment when they return.
- Holding fee arrangements may only be offered if classes are not expected to be full at the expected date of return of the family.
- If there is the expectation that a particular will be full, parents can be offered wait listing only and a holding fee is not taken.
- The following guidelines are in place for assessing holding fees:
- If a class is full or at 90% capacity or above, no holding fee will be offered. A waitlisting will be offered instead.
- If a class is projected to be below 90% of capacity by the family’s return date, a holding fee can be offered provided the family contacts the College annually by the end of July if arrangements need to be extended to the following year.
- Holding arrangements expire at 31 December each year.
