Scheme ID #
The College’s Containers for Change Scheme ID is C10409741.
Procedures #
- Each School will be provided with bins to collect the containers for recycling:
- Wilson Primary will receive four 240 litre bins.
- Kenwick Primary will receive two 240 litre bins.
- Kenwick Secondary will receive five 240 litre bins.
- The profits made from the recycling scheme will be evenly distributed between the Schools, with 50% to be allocated to missions and 50% to outreach activities or special projects. A special project may also be a mission. The funds are not to be used for any other purposes. The missions and special projects will be determined by the Principal and a Waste Wise group appointed by the Principal. Once a mission and special project has been chosen by the Principal and Waste Wise group, the recommendation will be sent to the Senior Leadership Team for final approval.
- The Facilities Manager at each Campus will be responsible for liaising with the recycling company to organise the collection of bins.
- The Coordinator of Waste Wise at each School will provide updates to the College community through the newsletter as appropriate.
- Finance reconciliation will be completed once per term and the Finance Manager will inform Principals of the amounts of funds they have raised to allocate towards missions and special projects.
- The Containers for Change Scheme ID allows staff and parents to drop off their eligible containers at any collection point around the city if they do not want to bring the containers to the College. A refund of 10 cents per eligible container will be paid to the College if they enter the College Scheme ID.
- The College has entered an agreement with Recycling Waste Solutions. Recycling Waste Solutions will provide the College with:
- bins to collect the recyclable containers eligible for refunds under the Scheme (‘eligible container/s’);
- transport the bins from the Kenwick and Wilson Campuses;
- sort and count the eligible containers; and
- lodge the count for payment of a refund of 8 cents per eligible container.
- As per the agreement, the College will:
- fill the Operator’s bins only with all its eligible containers and advise the Operator when the bins are ready for collection and replacement; and
- accept responsibility for any theft of or damage by vandalism to the Operator’s bins located at the College.
