Emergency Drill Responsibilities #
- The Occupational Health and Safety Committee is responsible for scheduling the emergency drills for the year, with input from the Senior Leadership Team.
- The Emergency Coordinator activates each drill on the designate day.
- Staff are sent a form from the Principal and asked to provide feedback on how the drill went by the final bell on the day of the drill.
- A pre-arranged Teams meeting is to be scheduled for 3:30pm on the day of each drill between the Senior Leadership Team, Occupational Health and Safety Representatives for each School and the Compliance Officer.
- The purpose of the meeting is for the Senior Leadership Team and the Occupational Health and Safety Committee to devise an action list based on the feedback received from staff. The actions identified are assigned to the applicable parties; for example, the Principal, the Occupational Health and Safety Representatives, the Facilities Manager, or the Projects Officer.
- The Compliance Officer will communicate the actions needed to the assigned/responsible parties.
- The Occupational Health and Safety Committee will follow up on the actions required to ensure they have been completed before the next drill takes place.
