Welcome to Rehoboth #
We hope this Staff Induction Manual will be a ready resource as you navigate the various procedures and systems that we use at Rehoboth. Please endeavour to familiarise yourself with the information contained in this Manual, especially regarding child safety, emergency procedures and evacuations.
Every student is a gift from God, created by Him for a purpose. Part of the richness of this gift is that students come in all shapes and sizes, language backgrounds, cultural contexts, learning styles and needs. As Christian educators, we have the joy of being able to show them Jesus in the way that we meet them where they are at and travel with them on their learning journey.
We promote 3 Schools, 2 Campuses, 1 College, ensuring that our vision, mission, and educational programs are consistent across both Primary Schools and form the basis for Secondary learning. The same vision, mission, strategic, and operational plans apply to all schools operated by the Association. The key documents that form part of this are listed below.
In a Christian philosophy of education, changing people is the goal, for this was the purpose of the events in which Christianity is based.

College staff are encouraged to be proficient in the use of computers and to use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) where appropriate to enhance teaching and learning.
Any staff members requiring assistance or training in the use of equipment or software, or who encounter any problems with the College’s technology should speak to the ICT Team Leader, Nathan Yurisich.
SafeTripBuilder
SafeTripBuilder is a risk management platform to help us plan and manage school activities and events (e.g. excursions and camps). Teachers can put together the itinerary of their activity and draw in student health and medical information from our school management system to aid in planning and running excursions and activities. Parent permissions for those activities are facilitated through the school management system.
Connect
Connect is the College’s Learning Management System. It is entirely web-based and can be accessed from any internet-enabled computer using your College Office 365 account.
Alpha
Alpha is the College’s intranet, a comprehensive guide to all things Rehoboth. It covers:
- quick links to frequently used platforms
- IT and Maintenance Helpdesk for support requests, or building and maintenance issues
- libraries for policies, procedures, forms, and guides
- Style Guide for logos, document templates, and usage guides
TASS
TASS is our school management system, a central administrative database holding all our student, family, and staff data. Through TASS, we manage student attendance and health records, payroll, finance, and administration. Parents are able to access and manage their information via the TASS Parent Lounge.
The TASS Staff Kiosk is the place to go to apply for leave, submit timesheets, create requisitions, and update your personal details.
CompliLearn
CompliLearn provides online learning in areas of compliance. It enables us to assign relevant courses to each staff member and track their progress to ensure everyone is up to date.
Office 365
All staff have been provided with an Office 365 account and you should be familiar with your login details (passwords must be changed twice per year for security reasons).
Webmail can be accessed here. Using this service, you can access your email, calendar, College contacts, groups, and other resources such as instruction videos.
Your OneDrive account also lives here. It is a practically unlimited online store for your documents, similar to Dropbox, Google Drive or other cloud-based storage.
If you want to share files with other staff, you may share them directly from your OneDrive. If you are unsure how to use any of these features, please contact the ICT Manager, Nathan Yurisich.
Policies and procedures are the guidelines and standards that inform our behaviour and approach to a range of matters. They are a major component of our registration with the Department of Education. They are all accessible via Alpha, though there are some key policies that staff should be familiar with:
- Child Safe Framework
- Child Safe Codes of Conduct
- Staff and Student Professional Boundaries
- Student Code of Conduct
- Discipline (Foundational Understandings)
- Discipline (Staff) Policy
- Discipline (Students) Policy
- Emergency Management Program
- ICT Usage and Social Media (Staff) Policy
- ICT Usage and Social Media (Students) Policy
- Report a Safety Incident Form
- Report a Safety Hazard Form
- Occupational Health and Safety Policy
- Student Health Program
- Duty and Supervision Policy
- Uniforms Policy
Staff are sent these via CompliLearn, along with associated courses, to complete online training.
The College uses four alerts:
Black Alert
- Evacuation due to a bushfire (Kenwick Campus only)
- PA systems emit a repeated ‘buzzing’ sound, followed by voice saying ‘Black Alert’
Blue Alert
- Lockdown: doors locked, blinds and curtains drawn, people out of view (under or behind desks)
- PA systems emit a repeated ‘beeping’ sound, followed by voice saying ‘Blue Alert’
Red Alert
- Evacuation
- PA system emit a repeated ‘siren’ sound, followed by voice saying ‘Red Alert’
Purple Alert
- Bomb threat: leave window and doors open, evacuate to designated assembly point.
- PA systems emit a repeated ‘whoop’ sound, followed by voice saying ‘Purple Alert’
Relief staff should be aware of their emergency management role as outlined in section 7 of the Emergency Management Plan, and with the response process outlined in section 10.
Grounds staff complete a campus lock up each night by 4:00pm (although cleaners are in later on most days).
If you urgently need to use the main office area or staffroom after 4:00pm, please check with your Principal or Head of Learning Area earlier in the day to see whether there will be anyone else on site. Access after 4:00pm will often be possible but cannot be guaranteed.
For access in the mornings, the carpark and front doors are opened at 7:00am. In the afternoons, the carpark gates and front entrance door may be locked by 4:15pm on some days, though will often be open for some time after. If you are at Kenwick and planning to work back after this time but do not have a gate key, you should move your car to the Business Office carpark at 92 Kenwick Road before that time.
Prayers and Devotions
Teachers are expected to pray with their classes (or perhaps to invite a student to lead in prayer as appropriate) at the beginning of each day, before dismissing students for lunch, and before dismissing students at the end of the day.
Teachers are expected to begin each day with a devotion of about 10 minutes.
