Components of the Crest #
The Rehoboth crest has remained largely unchanged since it was first adopted in 1980. It is the most immediate and recognisable representation of the College, community, and brand and as such is our most valuable visual asset.
There are three versions of the Rehoboth crest:
- the standard shield crest with no staging
- the shield accompanied by the full name of the College
- the social media crest.
The standard and accompanied crests may also be used in black and white, and text may be converted to white when the logo is placed on a dark background.
The crest features the College colours, blue, red, and white, and its design has several important aspect that remind us of the Christian foundation of our schools:
The Cross
The symbol of our faith and salvation, the cross draws our attention to the redeeming work of Christ. The world is spoiled by sin, but through Christ’s salvation and promise, we look forward to the full restoration of His creation and Kingdom.
The Bible
The open Word of God reminds us that it is our aim to present all education in the light of His Word. The Bible is our final authority authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
The Motto
Soli Deo Gloria – For the glory of God alone. This Latin phrase was a beautiful catchcry of the Reformation. It points to both the Reformed nature of our schools and the fact that Christian education should lead students to acknowledge God’s sovereignty in all things.
Standard Shield Crest #
The standard shield crest is the minimum branding required on all communications as well as all College-related paraphernalia such as uniforms, school bags, property/buildings etc.
The shield must always be accompanied by the text ‘Rehoboth’ above and ‘Soli Deo Gloria’ below as shown.
The background around the text and shield should always be transparent, letting the background colour of the page show through.
Versions with black/grey or white text are available.
Accompanied Shield Crest #
Version 1
This version should be used on letterhead and any other external communication and should be left justified. The presentation is always with the full standard crest and the complete ‘Rehoboth Christian College’ text as shown.
Version 2
Version 2 should be used in the header of internal documents, including policies, procedures, schedules, minutes etc. It should appear centre justified on each page of the document.
Black and White Crests #
The Bible and cross should always be transparent in both the standard and accompanied black and white crests, letting the background colour of the page show. All other requirements as per the colour versions apply.
