Uniform Policy and Shops #

Policy and Regulations

It is the desire of the College to create a Uniform Policy that is hospitable to students, whilst upholding the school’s expectations for neat and respectful dress.

We encourage all students and parents to carefully read the updated Uniform Policy and the accompanying Uniform Manual to ensure a clear understanding of the current dress standards and expectations.

Uniform Shop
Perm-A-Pleat | Forrestdale

Perm-A-Pleat’s shop is spacious and well-lit, with nine fitting rooms available and two staff members on hand to assist families.

Online Uniform Shop

We are pleased to also provide parents with the convenience and security of online ordering through our uniform partner, Perm-A-Pleat.  For online orders, parents will be contacted when orders are ready for collection from the Perm-A-Pleat store. Please ensure you provide a current phone number when ordering.

Please note: Online orders placed between December and mid-January will not be available for collection from the Perm-A-Pleat store until the last week of the holidays prior to the start of Term 1.

Secondhand Uniform Shops

The College operates Second hand Uniform Shops at both campuses.

Kenwick: The shop operates out of the old uniform shop, situated between the Primary and Secondary Schools at the rear side of the gym.  If parents would like to browse the available second hand uniforms, please visit either the Kenwick Primary or Secondary reception.  A member of our staff will be happy to unlock the door for you.

Wilson: The shop is located in the Wilson Gym, in Room G1.2 and is open on Mondays, 3:00-3:30pm.

Kindy and Pre-Primary Uniform #

Summer Uniform (Term1, Term 4)

Hat

Navy slouch with College crest, to be worn outside for sun protection.

Jacket

Students have two options:

  • Zip-up style blue with embroidered College crest.
  • Navy with red trim, as worn for sports.

Shirt

Red polo shirt with embroidered College crest.

Shorts

Navy blue rugby knit.

Shoes

Sandals (navy, black or brown) secured with front and ankle straps and a low heel.

Winter Uniform (Term 2 and Term 3)

Hat

Navy slouch with College crest, to be worn outside for sun protection.

Jacket

Zip-up style royal blue with embroidered College crest.

Shirt

Red polo shirt with embroidered College crest.

Shorts

Navy blue rugby knit.

Socks

White ankle length, to cover ankle bone.

Trackpants

Navy fleece trackpants.

Shoes

Sport shoes should be predominantly white or black and may include coloured trim.

Year 1-6 Boys Uniform #

Summer Uniform (Term 1 and Term 4)

Hat

Navy slouch with College crest, to be worn outside for sun protection during breaks and PE classes.

Jacket

Students are permitted three options:

  • Zip-up style royal blue with embroidered College crest.
  • Navy with red trim, can be worn with uniform and during sport all year round.
  • Soft shell.

Shirt

Blue polo shirt with embroidered College crest.

Shorts

Navy shorts with embroidered College name.

Socks

If boys are wearing leather school shoes, then navy school socks must be worn.

Shoes

Students are permitted two options:

  • Sandals (navy, black or brown) secured with front and side straps and a low heel
  • Black leather lace-up, buckled or Velcro strap school shoes with a low heel.
Winter Uniform (Term 2 and Term 3)

Hat

Scarf and Gloves

Navy scarf and gloves may be worn (optional).

 

Year 1-6 Girls Uniform #

Tights

Plain navy tights/stockings without socks may be worn only with the skort.

Scarf and Gloves

Sport

Hat

Navy slouch hat with College crest, to be worn outside for sun protection.

Jacket

Navy tracksuit jacket with red trim and embroidered College name.

Pants

Tracksuit pants with embroidered College name.

House Shirt

Micro fibre polo in House colours.
House shirts may be worn for PE lessons and House carnivals.

Sport Shirt

Red micro fibre polo with embroidered College crest.
May be worn for PE lessons.
Only required for interschool carnivals.

Shorts

Navy microfibre with embroidered College name.

Socks

White ankle length socks, to cover the ankle bone.

Sports Shoes

Sports shoes should not be overly bright, flashy or decorative

 
Swimming

All bathers to be modest and decent.
Girls to wear one-piece bathers only.

School Shoes #

Black School Shoes

We kindly request students wear conservative, mainstream styles of shoes that provide good support for their feet.  This helps us avoid any competition over footwear choices.
If you have any questions or concerns about the suitability of the shoes you are considering, please don’t hesitate to contact our Administration Office, we are here to help.
Please note that the College cannot approve shoes that do not meet our guidelines, even if they have already been purchased and worn.  However, there are many suitable styles of school shoes available for you to choose from.

Acceptable Styles

Sandals (navy, black or brown) secured with front and side straps and a low heel.
Black leather lace-up, or Velcro strap school shoes with a low heel.
No desert boots.

Sports Shoes

Sport shoes should not be overly bright, flashy or decorative.

Uniform Requirements #

General Uniform Requirements

Hair (Boys)

Hair must be cut so that it is above the collar, above the eyebrow, and above the ears.

Untidy, extreme, or ‘fad’ hair styles or colours, as determined by the College, are not permitted.

Dyed or bleached hair is not permitted.

Hair (Girls)

Hair which is shoulder length or longer must be tied up and back and/or plaited.

The hair style should allow for unobstructed eye contact between the student and teacher, without hair falling over the eyes so that the student can effectively work.

Untidy, extreme, or ‘fad’ hair styles or colours, as determined by the College, are not permitted.

Dyed or bleached hair is not permitted.

Hair Accessories

Hair accessories should be simple and unobtrusive.  All ribbons, bobbles, headbands are to be red, white or navy blue (College uniform colours) and must be in plain designs (i.e. no lace ribbons or ‘fancy’ bands).
The College reserves the right to ask a student not to wear a particular style of accessory.

Jewellery
Jewellery that is not permitted will be confiscated and returned to the student at the end of the school day.

Girls may wear stud or sleeper style earrings only (one earring per ear only).

Boys may not wear earrings.

Bangles, necklaces, or dangling earrings are not permitted due to safety concerns.

Makeup
No makeup, nail polish, or coloured/patterned acrylic nails are to be worn at school.


Additional Uniform Components

Singlets and Undergarments
Students are permitted to wear singlets and undergarments, as necessary.
These should not be visible outside the College polo shirt.
It is recommended that singlets and undergarments be white or skin-toned in colour, without patterns or prints as these can sometimes show through the polo shirt.

Hats
Only College hats purchased from the Uniform Shops are to be worn.
The College has a No Hat, No Play policy that is in effect during Term 1 and from 1 September each year through to the end of Term 4.

School Bags
The College school bag is compulsory for all students in Year 1 to Year 6.
School bags may be purchased in two sizes at the Uniform Shop.

Library Bags
PVC-backed poly cotton, waterproof bags are recommended.  These are available for purchase at the Uniform Shop and may also be purchased elsewhere.

Labelling & Lost Property

All clothing and personal items, including shoes, must be clearly marked with the student’s name (not initials only).

The College takes no responsibility for lost uniform or personal items.

There is a lost property box located in the Administration Office, where lost items are held for a time. Please check with the front desk before accessing the lost property box to look for items.

At the end of each term, all lost property is donated or otherwise disposed of.
