Overview #
As a parent-directed school, it is one of our great pleasures to see parents, grandparents, and other family members taking advantage of opportunities to participate in their children’s education and engage with the College.
Use the form below to register your interest in volunteering at Rehoboth. Before starting your application, you will need to have original scans or certified copies of your Working With Children Check and Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check. You can also use the Save button at the end of the page to save and resume your application at any time.
We also recommend informing your referees that you will be disclosing their contact information so that they can access that information if they wish. They should also be informed that we do not usually disclose information to third parties unless required to do so by law and that we may store their information for six weeks in the event of an unsuccessful application.
Working with Children Checks #
- There are exemptions for parents from obtaining a Working with Children Check (WWCC) in certain circumstances. Note that in this case, parent means the biological mother or father of a child, or their legal guardian.
- Parents are exempt from obtaining a WWCC if their student is enrolled at the school at which they are volunteering. Their student does not have to be participating in the particular activity in which the parent is volunteering.
- For other categories of child-related work (such as tutoring services, or sports or clubs) parents generally are exempt if their own student (aged under 18) either participates (or ordinarily participates) in the activity or is involved in some or all of the activities of the relevant organisation.
- Parents are not exempt in any category of child-related work if they are volunteering at an overnight camp.
- Parents are not exempt if they have been issued a Negative Notice or Interim Negative Notice and the Notice is current.
- For more information, refer to the WWC Screening Unit’s Factsheet CRW03: The Parent Volunteer Exemption.
Statement of Faith #
All applicants are encouraged to read the Westminster Confession of Faith and/or the Three Forms of Unity. These form our Statement of Faith at Rehoboth.
