Principal’s Scholarship

About the Award #

Our Principal’s Scholarships aim to assist families in transitioning to the College and to encourage students to achieve their best. The objectives of the scholarship are to:

  1. promote excellence in Christian education among students of the College
  2. provide an opportunity for high-achieving students who might otherwise financially find themselves unable to pursue their studies in a Christian school, and
  3. lift the profile of the College as an educational institution that encourages the best in all students.

The scholarship is usually awarded in the form of a 40% reduction of the base tuition fee per year and is deducted from the annual College fees.

Eligibility #

  1. The Principal’s Scholarship is open to new students in Years 6-12 who are seeking enrolment at Rehoboth and whose parents qualify for membership in the Association for Christian Education.
  2. Applications open in September each year.
  3. Applications close at the end of November each year.
  4. Scholarships are awarded on the strength of applications that meet the selection criteria.
  5. Scholarships are for the duration of one year. Students who have been awarded a Scholarship in a particular year and who wish to continue their studies at Rehoboth are invited to reapply in the following year to be considered. This condition may be varied at the discretion of the Senior  Leadership Team.
  6. To continue receiving their Scholarship students must demonstrate ongoing good behaviour in accordance with our Code of Conduct, a commitment to do their best and complete all work, and participate fully in the College’s programmes (e.g. representing the College in their areas of skills; participating fully in training, competitions, rehearsals, etc).
  7. Should a student who is awarded a Scholarship withdraw or terminate their enrolment at Rehoboth, the Scholarship is not redeemable for cash and is not transferable to another student or sibling at the College.
  8. The Principal’s Scholarship is not transferable to any other schools within or outside Western Australia.

Selection Criteria #

  1. Applications are assessed primarily on merit and the strength of the student’s responses to the questions posed. Family needs may also be taken into account.
  2. Scholarships will be awarded to eligible students who are best able to demonstrate:
    1. how Jesus Christ is real in their lives and express what it means to be a Christian;
    2. excellence in areas such as academics, sports, cultural/artistic expression, or Christian leadership;
    3. an outstanding contribution they have made at their current school and an ability to make similar contributions at Rehoboth; and/or
    4. skills or abilities that will contribute to or complement Rehoboth’s existing programmes (e.g. playing a sport at a national or international level, participating in music or literary competitions, or similar).
  3. Only fully completed applications submitted via this online form by the stated closing date will be considered.
  4. Before starting your application, please ensure you have copies of the following documents ready to attach:
    1. Certificates supporting the student’s academic, sporting, or artistic achievements.
    2. Two most recent school reports.
    3. A written reference from the student’s pastor, minister, or person of authority at the church they currently attend.
    4. Birth certificate or current passport.
  5. You can also use the ‘Save’  button at the end of this page to save and resume your application at any time.

At Rehoboth Christian College, we are busy discovering God’s story for us. It is a story about how He has provided a safe, secure environment for Christian families to send their children to be educated; a place where students are taught to think Christianly about the world and their place in it. Rehoboth was also only the second school of its kind in Australia at its opening; a school where Jesus Christ was to be honoured as Lord of all.
